I'm thinking about buying an upgrade chip package like the K6-2/3 packages from Kingston, Evergreen, or Powerleap for my father's PCCHIPS M507 motherboard. Anyone have any knowledge if one of these will work with the M507? Thanks in advance.

It really is an M507. It is an older board. I think they were originally socket 5 boards, but the socket on this one says Socket 7. This board was also sold by Amptron as the PM7600.

Looks like that mobo has a VRM header to support split voltage CPUs. If you are technichally inclined, you can make your own VRM like I did:
