This has happend more than once; I'll be surfing, and all the sudden it will start chugging. It slows right down and I can't connect to sites half the time. Then about two minutes later I can't get anything. winipcfg shows the same thing as above, and reseting the cable modem, and all that stuff does no good.

I'm guessing my @home provider just crashed because the tech support line was busy busy. It also seams to happen at the busy periods of night. But still....it's weird. I'm starting to really consider DSL.

It's probably just cable going down. Here that happens quite often. That's why I don't have it and am waiting for DSL. I hope it clears up soon.

I've never seen that...and hope I never do. I must say, my cable connection has been solid, 24/7, for 4+ months now. If it has gone down at all it musta been for very short periods and while I was either at work or sleeping.

(and hopefully I didn't just jinx myself.)

I have the same provider as you seti and am having the same problem. Seems the only time it goes down is when I need it. I think they oversold and are overloading the infrastructure.

Yes,they go down all the time, @home that is. E-mail has been down just about everyday for a while now usally between 6-8AM.

But it is still much faster than a 56K line. And well worth the money.
