I am currently running a celeron 667 @ 744MHz, but i am not sure what my V_Core should be running at.

I am running the celeron on a PGA370 to slot 1 adapter, that allows the v-core to be altered to my own tastes.

However, i dont want to fry the chip so advicer on this would be much apprteciated]

Well, the stock core voltage for a Celeron 667Mhz is 1.65V and if your system is running without problems, I see no point in adjusting the core voltage higher than its default voltage...

If you can set your divider to 1/3, you can try pushing the fsb higher. Just increase the voltage in small increments though. A lot of Cels can top out at a Gig.

Thanks guys,

I looked at the voltage over the weekend, and it turns out im running it at 2.2 volts, its running ok, but we shall see what its like on my new mobo, by the end of this week.

Incidentally, its an A-OPEN PGA 370 to slot
1 adapter, it also lets voltage be altered, so is a good overclocking tool !!!

2.2v is way too high!!!
It shouldnt be higher than 1.85v or so.
Anything higher, and that chip may fry.

Celeron II is 1.5V or 1.7V
Look at your CPU
2.2V is very dangrous

2.2 volts is a bit high but I run a Celeron 700 at 1092Mhz (104 FSB) with the volts at 2.0V on an Asus CUSL2-C board.

I must run at this high setting or the chip is unstable at these speeds but with reasonable cooling (a Coolermaster HSF) and the base of the Heatsink sanded to flatness I am having or seeing no ill effects with such a high voltage...yet.

OK Guys Listen up !!

My mobo aint happy if i aint running at 2.2volts, i have a Highly modified case, that houses two extra fans dragging air out the top of the case DIRECTLY ABOVE THE CPU i also have 2 FANS COVERING THE HEAT SINK, and one covering the back of the adapter card too!!, add to that the fact that i have 2 (soon to be four!!) INTAKE FANS.

IN TOTAL I HAVE 8 FANS (SOON TO BE 12 !!) KEEPING THE METAL BOX COOL. it actually runs at full load at 10-12 degrees Centigrade.

I still haven't quite got round to getting my new mobo fitted yet, newborn babies kinda take all a yer time up. lol

Thanks for the advice, but like i said, my mobo aint happy if the voltage is lower than 2.2v, so i think im slightly up the creek without a paddle.

What can i do ?

Cheers, Gilt

So let me get this right, my celeron stock coltage is 1.7volts, yet my mobo aint happy if it is lower than 2.2 volts, consequently running my cpu @ 744 MHz, whats up wiv me mobo ?

HELLLLLLLLLLP !!!

Hi quick question - I take it that the Book voltage is 1.7 - I don't know anything about the board. Mine is an auto detect[no good for ocing] - sets itself up with its own voltages and multipliers by its own settings.
Is this doing the same thing - hence the high voltage - the board sees it as something that its not?

Just a thought? dfr

Have ya got yer rig set up in a meat locker??? 10-12c?? Thats a little chill for air cooling don't ya think??

First Question, my board is manually setup through 2 onboard jumper boxes, if thats any help, and the board is a Gigabyte GA-6BXC

Secondly, my pc is NOT in a meat locker, BUT, over the past six or seven days, i have added an extra 30 fans to my pc( and NO, it is NOT LOUD), it looks and is very modified, hence my 10-12 degrees Centrigrade case temperature !!

Amongst re-spraying the case, fiberglassing over wooden formers to make new panels Etc Etc, i have created a high security power supply. very complicated, but very effective, i even took it to the local police station, to see if they could get into it, but they couldn't, whats more they couldnt even open the **** CASE, its that well secured.

I have had the case valued, and, if it was on the market now, it would retail at approx £350 cos of all the security features amongst other stuff.

Look. I don't care if ya got 130 fans on it. Those temps with air-cooling are B.S. I've yet to see anyone able to acheive below ambient temps with fans.

Last winter I ran a 2.5" vacuum hose from outside the dog door to the large intake fan on my computer and got the cpu temp to 14c. The room got to 10. I moved the computer to the mud room for an attempt at 1.3 out of a 900tbird. Didn't get it. Got 1050 rock solid but can't go higher no matter what I try.

Try sitting it on icer packs !!!

well, i could, but i dont have to, i got no carpets in my bedroom, so my pc sits directly on a marley tiled solid concrete floor, i even took the rubber feet off it !!

My temps are GENUINE, if there is a program with which i can rove it, either send me a copy, or tell me where it is, i'll send you the results, filing that, i'll take a photo and send it to you !!
