I'm finally in the O/C race hehe thanks to the guys on the message board I'm running my 1.2gig TBird at 1.45 now, and I'm not done yet hehe.

And about the Tbird unlocked thing, I'm not sure, but I've gotten 2 1.2gig Tbird's, 1 200mhz and the other 266mhz both unlocked, 1 retail, other not. So I don't know if it's my luck or what. Oh and both have the AXIA code :-P

Mine is AXIA code to i can ghet it to post at 1.7 gig'sbut it will not boot to windows need a little more volts to get there the only problem is that 1.85 is the max on the KT7A

Yeah you know what, anything I try after 1.46 doesn't load windows, I tried right after my first post. I can post 1.5gig's, and still no windows load, but I didn't check to see how far it would go since it didn't work in windows.

When I run 1.45 everything seems fine but when I play Half Life's Counter Strike, the game will just shut off with no error, 1.44 seems to be the most stable. But my voltage, as is yours is denying us our true power :-(

Question.. I have Enchance Chip Preformance disabled, what are you CPU and Advanced Chip settings in your bios?

Everything is Enabled and ram is set to cas2 turbo and 4way interlace

You have PC100 SDRAM running at 148MHz? Man, that's serious ram!

OverKill, how did you know for certain that your Axia was unlocked.

I got a 1.2 Axia and want to know.

I just haven't figured out how I can change my mulitiplier with my Gigabyte GA-7Dx motherboard. any help here?

That RAM could be the only thing holding you back. Are you still running it at Cas2? Try Cas3 and bump the multiplier. You're on a roll.

I is set at cas2 turbo modeand yes it is PC 100 and you are right that ia better than the pc 133 ram i have in my kids P3 600 will only go as far as 140mhz thats what you get for buying quility products the PC 100 is Micron and the PC 133 is generic

For some reason I can't run my RAM at Cas 2, I'll get boot crashes all the time or my moniter doesn't load, and it crashes in windows if it does.

I have one Kingston 256mb PC133 SDRAM chip, but for everything else except for chip enhancement is on it's fastest setting.

Sixpac.. My first Tbird 1.2gig 200mhz I didn't check the L1 bridges but was still able to change the mutliplier so I figured is was unlocked, on my 1.2gig 266mhz I check the L1 Bridge and they where closed by factory.

I say factory since it was a Retail OEM Box so I figure AMD shipped that one like that, I never had to do the pencil trick on either one.

But that's what you need to do, there are many websites that explain how to do that. I don't know any links off hand, sorry.

AMD Fan #1:

Congrats! Great oc'ing, but do you really run any applications at that speed? How does your HD respond? I've OC'd 1.5+ (never increased my voltage) and IBM ATA100 HD failed. I run my 1.33 at a modest 1.46 GHz for all applications (just changed multiplier), but that's it. I can see oc'ing to a point to see how far one can push the cpu, but after a point I question the practicality of extreme oc'ing for everyday use. $.02 http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Don't install DirectX 8.0 It's trouble.

yes all you need to do if it is installed is go into the bios change the multipler and if it is unlocked you will see the change on bootup
I looked at it before i installed mine and the L1 briges were all connected whitch is unlocked so you get to play with both multipler and fsb that is the best way

Hi Overkill,

all Tbirds 1.2 that have a 200Mhz fsb are unlocked by default.

I don't know if the 266Mhz counterparts are too, but....
