I have no idea why but all of a sudden my CPU is running at 44-45C at idle and the CPU temps drop when I play CPU intensive games.. what's up I tried ALT+CNTRL+DELETE and closed every program running.. nothing..
Earlier I tried installing a switch for my exhaust fan and while the computer was running t one of the bare wires touched the side of the metal case and sparked but everything still works fine... surely tell me this is not the problem.. the GPU on my GeForce MX is also running very warm.. if anyone has any suggestions please help me out..

If you have access to a digital voltmeter, check all the voltages coming out of the power supply, when you shorted that wire to ground, you may have hurt your regulating circuits in the PS.

I was hoping maybe some program was maybe runnin in the background because when I hit Alt + Cntrl + Delete and bring up the program window it cools down and when I play games it cools down to 42C at load... I'm gonna try cleaning the CPU and wiping off the HD cause I d/l some hackin progs the other night and one loaded funnny kinda like NetBus so it's time to reload windows anyway... I'll tell you how it goes..

after 3 hours of nothing but Diet Mtn. Dew and Marlboro Lights I have formated and completely reinstalled everything including windows ME and my guess was right.. it must have been a program cause I'm back @ 30C Idle temp and I'll never install a hacker program again.. *pets his computer*

Could you post the name of the offending program? That way we all could avoid it...
Very glad to hear that your system is back in the cool blue.

I believe the name of the program was WinHack Gold.. beware to all those who cross it's path..
