Pencil trick is simple thing everybody can do with ordinary sharp #2 pencil. The trick is to connect all the bridges in the L1 area. Be carefull not to cross connect bridges because it will result with CPUs death.

Overclocking can be done with CPU multiplier or FSB on your mobo. It's recommmended that you increase your FSB because it will result in overall performance. Reachin the 1gig shouldn't be so difficult with proper cooling and good motherboard.

Here's some more info http://www4.tomshardware.com/blurb/00q3/000710/index.html

I just o/clocked my Duron 750.
I used the pencil trick (as described by djurom above) to join all L1 & L7 bridges. The L1's unlock the multiplier, the L7, unlock the voltage.
Because I had to do the upgrade on the cheap, I used old HDD, this meant the system wouldn't boot if the FSB was set above 108 MHz.
I used just the multiplier to have it running a very stable 950MHz (multiplier 9.5; FSB 100MHz). It turned out that like this I didn't need to change the voltage anyway, it ran fine at 1.65 volts. I guess you'd only need higher voltage if you want to push the FSB hard.
The only drawback was my CPU temps went from 28 degrees C. upto about 42 degrees C. This is with a Global Win FOP38 HSF(Noise pump).
Depending on your Mobo, you should be able to get at least a 110MHz FSB overclock -providing your other components can handle it.

The Duron's have a big problem going over 1050mz, they will seem to work maybe but are usually unstable. I have booted at 1100mz but it just starts bugging out right away.Trying 1066 or under 1075 might work. The motherboard is another hold up. a abit kt7a might do better than my abit kt7 raid. My chipset is a big hold up going faster. But you are only talking about 50mz.

tilio:

Try setting your fsb to 133 and everything is divided back to normal. Then push it 8 over from there to 141.
