I have a FIC 503+ motherboard and a 300MHz AMD and I can't get it to overclock. I have tried using 100MHz FSB and 3.5 multiplier and it doesn't come up with a screen. I have also tried seting the FSB to 112MHz and have the multiplier set to 3 and it did the same thing

Does anybody know what's wrong. Is this motherboard not able to overclock or what?

Its probably not the limitation of your m/b but rather the CPU. you have to check the vcore voltage, if still using the default try increasing that by 0.1-0.2 volts. I have used this m/b in past with K6-3 350@400 (100x4), but certainly had to increase the vcore to boot up and work stable in windows.

I had an early K6-2 300 and I never could get any significant overclock with it, I think some were just maxed out at 300.

The older K6-2 processors were of the .25 micron series, and most did not O/C well at all, if any. Once upon a time, a couple of years ago, somebody said that AMD had pushed them to the max to begin with. I have the FIC 503+ myself with the K6-2 500. I tried to get it to 550 one time, it would post after increasing Vcore, but it wasn't stable in Windows, and I believe that was due to heat. I didn't have a good HSF on it, so I put it back to 500, and let it be..
