I'm running my T-Bird 1Ghz at 1.29. The system clock as well as the memory bus is at 129.9 with clock multiplier locked at 10, FSB at 259.9, and the system is very stable. What bugs me is that I can run the memory bus at 133 if I leave the system clock at 100 or 115, but neither setting as you know will not give 1.29Ghz. What I am looking for is my FSB at 266, memory bus at 133 and my T-Bird as high as I can push it.

Will unlocking the CPU multiplier get me this result?
What is the best way to get all three to the max?

Loving this OC stuff.

How fast can I go and when I reach it can I go faster? Sorry i think I'm losing it, just a little.

First, what mobo do you have?

Second, yes it will run better and faster if you unlock it and run it at 133fsb over 100 (or above) fsb, Even a stock 100 fsb compaired to 133 fsb at the frequency the cpu was designed to run at...ie...no overclock, the cpu will perform better at 133 than it will at 100 fsb.

Thirdly, If I were you, I would go to some of the died in the wool overclockers forums and read...a LOT!. these guys talk all of the time about how to overclock this or that, and tell what they did to do it. Just starting out in an overclock adventure without having any clues what to do or expect, is asking for a disaster. There are many tweaks to perform, like flashing the bios to get the settings needed to run a cpu at a higher O/C...which involves cpu Vcore adjustments and multiplier adjustments, ect.

I have an ASUS A7V133a Mobo and,I belive, the latest BIOS revision but I will check it out. Aside from sysopt.com, overclock.com, and tomshareware.com do you have any suggestions for overclocking forums?

Thanks

Check out the following site as part of your oc'ing education. You'll also find some utilities and other goodies.
