Celeron 700 at 1134 MHz - pics

Hi, just thought some of you might be interested in some pics of what this freaky little 700 MHz (C0) Celeron of mine is capable of - so far. I previously posted a topic when I reached 1092 Mhz but I feel that an update is in order.

I have heard of some people doctoring these pictures with paint programs to show false readings. You have my word that these are real.

I run it on an ASUS CUSL2-C board with 512 MB of HP RAM, a 7200 RPM 2 MB Buffer HDD, just a Vibra 128 for sound and an Eagle GeForce 2MX (coolbits.reg maxed out) for vid.

I sanded the base of the CPU Heatsink to make sure it was flat (it wasn't) and I run a garden variety Coolermaster HSF with Tandy grease. It runs at an average temperature of about 31-40C. I rarely check the temp anyway. No reason to really, I rarely have any locking up or freezing in games. It just chugs along happily - touch wood.

I've been running it in at various speeds for a few months. Originally I couldn't get it to run at anything over 850 Mhz. Then gradually I would try a little more FSB then a little more voltage. I currently run the voltage at a board maximum of 2.0 volts - have been for a few months.

Apart from that she's a factory Hotrod!

Nice job, here is a link to the best ive been able to get my celey 700 to http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/StageSt/charlieannboyd/cpu.html This is on an Abit BH6 256 megs of ram, vodoo 3 3000 video card, generic hard drive 6.4 gig and a generic heat sink and fan. Cant get windows to load at 100 FSB, Any ideas

It will sit on 1GHz for a while but then you can try and raise the FSB after a suitable run-in period.

Keep at it and you should be rewarded.

you've got a great chip there, those benchmarks are quite impressive for a celeron

Thanks jaida, it feels like a very fast machine. I'd like to have a go on an Big AMD powered machine to see if I can feel any difference.

The benchmarks only tell half the story. I know that but I still amazes me every time it goes up one more step.

By the way, I had the SiSoft burn in program on all night and it was still running happily this morning.

I'm quite impressed with this chip and everyone I mention it too says it's a freek chip but if you head on over to http://www.overclockers.com and look in their CPU database you will see that a few other people have had equal (and some even better) results.

I'm going to go out on a limb though and suggest that my chip is one of the fastest air cooled 700's on the planet...

Has anyone gone faster than 1134Mhz with air cooling?
