what is the diff bet a celeron and p2?what exactly is a celeron? it's still being sold and the mhz is always being upped. would a celeron susbstitute with a p2 or p3 interchangeably? or does one must do a bios upgrade etc.? i was thinking of swapping a p3 in place of my p2 in my laptop. tia

The diff between a Cel and a PII is the L2 cache. But if you're going to upgrade your lappie from a PII to a PIII or Cel II you'd better make sure it can support the newer proc. From the PII to the PIII there was a die shrink and PIII's utilize a split plane voltage that not all PII mobo's can handle.
