do any of you guys remember the old track-by-track disk copy protection method used for diskettes? i'm looking for a version to play around with that i want to use in combination with a pretty tough "restricted number of uses" program i'm working on to protect (or attempt to) some software of mine that i want to distribute on floppies. the use restriction software works partially by resetting checksum value after the executable is accessed x-amount of times and even using softice95 it's not just a walk in the park to crack, and when you install it there is a registry entry that stays so that it knows when you try to just uninstall and reinstall, but i'm wanting a method also where it can't just be copied from disk to disk. i'm completely open for ideas!

thanks.

Hello,

I remember something like that in an early version of Norton (some 7-8 years ago) with a counter.
Kill me but I can't recall the version.

Sorry.
