Thanks for the update Dave!
Sudden thought... Anyone know if the updates are cumulative (inclusive of the previous updates) or stand-alones? That is, if I'm not having this problem, should I update. I'll try to find out, but if someone knows please post.
This forum is fine, Dave. I've posted previous BID update notices here myself. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I don't like the install-first-then-readme either.

Each "update" is a full version. I was still having those problems, so I went back to 1.8.68( or something like that)
If all is well, then no need to update. Other than bugs, the updates sometimes have some new names of new types of attacks, but the protection is the same.
I'm using 1.9.14 and it's better. I'm going to try 1.9.20 and see how that is.
BTW if you go to the Network Ice web site and click on updates, and BID, it'll tell you what is in current release and list what components are updated.

Here is what it says:
RELEASE 1.9.20 (this release)
. Issue: On certain machines (Win9x with certain dialup adapters),
the shutdown problem fixed in v1.9.19 continues to be a problem.
Resolution: Fixed.
Boy, I still hate how you have to install it to get to the "read me". I stopped having that problem 2 or 3 updates ago.
Dave
edit- Sorry, I should have put this over in "technical"-edit

Thanks for the reply, RacerX, and for the site update info. If I had been thinking, I wouldn't have had to ask that question - you're correct about the updates as full installs. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/redface.gif
I'm going to skip this one also, since I have no shutdown issues and there are no new detections.
