I can get my PIII to 1015MHz but 3DMark 2001 doesn't like 145FSB and crashed. At 140FSB everything ok. My specs:

PIII 700@980 (140FSB)
Abit SE6, 512MB PC133 cas2
Asus 7100 GeForce MX2, Nvida 6.50 driver

3DMark 2001 at default (175/166) core/memory clock settings:

1024x768x32 - 1841
1024x768x16 - 2156

3DMark 2001 at 210 core/210 memory clock settings:

1024x768x32 - 2095
1024x768x16 - 2338

At core clock settings obove 210MHz 3DMark locked up, so 210MHz is it for me.

Here goes, havent played around to get highest score possible yet (tweaked my geforce2 o/c), so could be better than this i reckon, but anyways:

Tbird 1Ghz @ 1.1Ghz (10*110)
superorb to cool it.
128MB PC133 @cas3
GA-7ZXR mobo
Prophet II PRO @220mhz core/440mhz mem (7.52 herc drivers)
20Gig ATA-66
Win98se
latest 4in1's

3dmark2k1 score = 3158 with the standard test

Anybody know why jmc_uk got a higher score than me? he has more ram, and faster HD, but i got faster CPU and faster video (more vid ram too). Perhaps his 256MB cas2 is whats doing it.

AndreRio,

at what resolution did ya get that score in 3dmark2000??? 800x600??

Cause frankly, that can't be at 1024x768.

I got a score of 5500 at most with a system, which is in all but 1 way, higher speeded then yours.

I have a duron 800@1100 (10 x 110)
256Mb @ 143Mhz
Geforce256 DDR
18.2Gb ata66 disk
and win98se with dx8
latest 4in1 drivers

So, only yer hd is faster, and yet, you score 1500 more then me.
SO, that's why I wonder at what resolution did you test it???

1st, the duron is not as fast as the tbird i think
2nd, you got to install via 4in1 4.29 driver (www.viahardware.com), download this driver will make your system run faster

new in 4.29:

1.Update Via inf version 1.20a .( Add Via inf catalog file )
2.Update via ide miniport driver 3.011 to via pci ide driver 1.04 in win2k
Note:
Support Feature.
1.Windows 2000 candidate version
If you only install Windows 2000 candidate version, the MS IDE Driver limit the ATA100 feature and only support up to ATA66. It will switch the operation mode of ATA100 mode to PIO mode. After Install Filter Driver, the operation mode of ATA100 device will be decreased to ATA66 only, not to PIO mode.
2.Windows 2000 candidate version plus Service Pack 2
If you install Windows 2000 Service Pack2, the MS IDE Driver begin to support ATA100 feature. The ATA100 device could work with ATA100 mode really.

Hmmm...P3 650 dual, W2K GF2 Ultra...Default 32 bit everything...

3DMark 2K1 --- 2135

Of course, 3DMrak2K default 32 bit is 6500.

I think the benchmark is not very reliable for different type cards. It must depend on certain types of support more than others.

Especially because I know many GF2MX users who cant hold a candle to my GF2 Ultra in gameplay...even with their 1 GHz machines.

For some reason, when I overclocked my Duron from 800 to just an 880, I achieved a 200+ 3DMark score (3DMark2001). The GeForce2 MX settings were all the same, and were both o/c'ed to 210core/200mem. Anyone else, tried o/c and don't o/c as much like an 100-150MHz see how much difference in score you get, is it just my score that is weird??

Drivers are amazing...

I just loaded the detonator 10.80 drivers...and my score went from 2135 with 7.54 drivers all the way up to 2358.

I still think it's kicking for a 650 MHZ machine.

Wilan Wong

BBA

Hmmm...maybe it's less video dependant and more cpu dependant.

I see where everyone with a Gigahertz and just about any vid card ( GF2MX/GF DDR/GF2GTS ) are getting in the low to mid 3000's and those with slower cpu's ( 600-800 ) are getting from low to mid 2000's, regardless of the vid card.

I think that because my vid card ( GF2 Ultra ) should definitely kick the pants off ANY other video card out yet, and it does when playing games.

I know for a fact that there is not another video card yet that will run 100 FPS in Q3 at 1280x1024, other than mine, and definitely none any of the 32M cards will come anywhere close, no matter what CPU is behind them.

Well, I have a little more respect for this video card, cause I got a little program called rageclk and it's now clocked at 114/140mhz. That with the newest via drivers gives me an 1839 in 3DMark2000, 139% of what it was before, which seems like a pretty good deal, 39% performance increase with only a 27% increase in GPU clock. Now I have the choice of running Unreal in either 800X600X32 or 1024X768X16 when the best I could do and be decent was 800X600X16 before. Whoohoo.

If only I could afford a new video card and a gf device... but I can't even afford a cheap little h/s and fan to cool the now toasty warm GPU on the one I've got.

I heard that the Nature test doesn't run on everyone's systems because 3DM2K1 checks for a "DX8- compliant" card. Yet when you run the demo the Nature game's segment runs just fine. I wish they released a patch to allow the running of the Nature scene- it's obvious the thing will run, just not necessarily as good.

Anyone with me?

JayMan

At the moment i think only the gf3 is actually DX8 compliant, GF2 radeon etc... are only DX8 compatable (driver compatabilty, not full hardware compatability).

I have just done some more tweaking on the above system, now have athlon 1120Mhz (112x10). Geforce2 PRO o/ced to 215/440 (could go higher i think but thats all for now). detonator 11.01 drivers, all else is same as above (above i've got my gf2 o/ced more hehe don't ask my why i didn't go to the same amount this time, oops, so could probably ad a few more points to my score too)

Celeron @ 800/100 3dMark2001: 1596
Celeron @ 800/133 3dMark2001: 1643

So memory speed has an important effect on this test too. If 3dMark2001 really relates to gaming, then we really are going to see a performance boost with fast DDR SDRAM after all. I wonder if anyone has run this with DDR SDRAM or RDRAM already:

ok here are my specs:

486/DX2 66 mhz (not overclocked)
8MB RAM
100MB hard drive
geforce2 MX AGP (not overclocked)

3dmark 2000 (1024x768x16) score: 15,823
3dmark 2001 (1024x768x32) score 6,546

I have proof of this score, i really do. (thanks to photoshop...)

Ok anyone who isnt smoking crack believe this score? thought so... Why cant we all just post the DEFAULT benchmark scores? I just got my first Geforce card (Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 MX DH Pro) and i been reading the posts trying to make sense of what scores to expect so i know i got it tweaked correctly. So please lets just post default scores so new GF owners have some idea what to expect out of their cards...

My real specs and score (so far)

Abit BH6
celeron 566@850
192MB PC133 Cas2
Maxtor 30GB 5400rpm (running at ATA 33)
Leadtek Winfast Geforce2 MX DH Pro (o/c to 200/210)

3DMark 2000 (DEFAULT 1024x768x16): 4880
3DMark 2001 (DEFAULY 1024x768x32): 2003

i think thats about all im gonna get out of it. The Leadtek official drivers 4.12.01.0648 drivers are working the best for me.
