If it's primarily an internet machine, then Duron all the way. A T-bird is nice to have, and gets a bit better performance in games, but it doesn't sound like you'll be taxing it too hard, plus you get to o/c with the Duron.

A tbird is a over kill for most people inclueding me. For surfing a duron is perfect , for waste money a tbird is a good selection.I want a tbird too but i like watching price's fall to nothing.

Alrighty then. I was really leaning towards the duron any ways. The case I found is only 42.50 and comes with a 400Watt PS. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Okay, I'm going to be building a new computer for my self and I was trying to make it cheaply but still good. I just need to know should I get an athlon with a 266Mhz FSB or should I just get a duron and OC it? Primarily its going to be a internet machine with some games on the side (black & white, Half Life mainly) I've got the case and every thing else picked out the processor is just tripping me up.
I'm sorry if this should be somewhere else but I didnt know if it should or not since I may end up overclocking in some form. Thanks for your time and help.
Nice find! Just make sure the power supply is from a reputable company. Some of these unknown companies are blowing smoke when it comes to advertising their power ratings.
I'll third the duron recommendation. When overclocked, they have a price/performance ratio that is unheard of.
