my computer won't boot up when i turn the bus freq. mutiplier past 8.5 and my monitor won't turn on either when i do it. i have an 800 athlon T-bird and i did the L1 cache penciling trick and i overclocked the bus freq. to 110 instead of 100mhz but it won't boot up when i turn the multiplier past 8.5 and because my monitor only turns on about 5 seconds after i turn on the power my monitor won't turn on so i know it isn't booting up at all
please help me

Did you try increasing the Vcore voltage? Seems to me that is the issue here.

Go to 100MHz FSB and/or bump the multiplier down, but I recommend the FSB down the most.

sound like your pushing the voltage too much. start at default and raise it one notch at a time...

Maybe 8.5 is the maximum multiplier you can get out of it.

actually i just found out that in almost all the casses it is impossible to overclock a 800 Athlon T-bird past 850 for some reason thats why a lot of people are switching to durons

the athlon 800 can be OC'd to 1GHz with out any problems. you have to unlock it, and may even have to mod your MB. there are a few sites that go in to detail on how to unlock the cpu and what mods "may" be needed to OC.
