Slot 1 or Fc-Pga and which heatsink

I plan to buy a p3 700, for my abit be6-II (slot 1) next week, which would be better, slot or fc (of course i am gonna overclock). And also what heatsink would be best (not to expensive) for either of them.

Flip Chips are better to O/C with fans and all, but since your motherboard is a slot based board you would have to buy a slot processor unless you get the sloket card.

umm, why do they call it a flip chip again?!?

I would guess it's called that because of the little zero insertion force lever on the side of the socket (compared with slot 1 or slot A that you have to tug and yank and shove and curse).

It's because the chip has been "flipped" over on the printed circuit board allowing the chip to make direct contact with the heatsink.

As for the heatsink, I use the Golden Orb on my Cele 566@850mhz. Works fine; I don't have any specific numbers for you, but it's very stable. Not terrible loud, either. I think I paid $14 for it. Best of luck!
