Anybody have anything to recommend as far as an ISDN modem? My telco says they have the best support for the 3com impactIQ and the regular impact modem. My question is I think the IQ is quite a bit higher priced, but are the added features worth the extra $$?
Also, any ideas where to purchase one of these? Alot of the online places I've been too don't even list the ImpactIQ,how long has it been on the market? I called to get my service set up and need to find a modem.
Just for info, going to use southwestern bell 128k dual channel service, anybody have any good/bad dealings with them? Thanks..

Ola, I am using the Adtran Express 3000. The performance is the same as the one you mentioned, but for less bucks. I paid 200 for this one. Any questions give me a holler http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Thanks for the reply. When you bought yours, did you have to go through a load of stuff to get it set up? I talked with a sales rep about setting up the service and she said that the ISP's software would take care of the setup. I thought she might be blowin'smoke, but after doing some checking,it was correct. What I read was that when you set it up, the modem will find out what kind of switch it will be talking to and set itself up accordingly. That seems to be pretty much idoit proof. It still doesn't compare to work here(T-1!)I get spoiled when I'm here, because I'm too far out for DSL and cable won't be available for a while yet in the ole' hood. C-ya.

just curious...but where in texas?
i would recommend giving ev1.net a call on monday...they are announcing their new DSL service areas then, and claim to be doing DSL statewide....not sure of the specifics, but ijust found out tonight at the company meeting...

I am just south of Fort Worth. They have DSL in my CO, I am at 18100 ft,too %$##$%$! long by about 600 feet...I called jump.net about what they were advertising as IDSL but I found out that it is basically 2B+D ISDN,they were saying 128k download speed.(They never called back). I will give your company a shout monday morning when I get off work, thanks for the tip.
