I bet your friend got a lot out of that K2 500 too! So what if it's been out for year's, not the way I set it up. It cools great go pay $100 to some computer store to cool better.

i don't need to spend 100 dollars at a computer store, my computer is cool enough. i was just stating that YOU didn't invent the fan mod. so why should YOU get paid for it? btw. my friend got his k6-2 500 up to 600. not to shabby at the time. that was over a year ago(when he used that h/s fan setup). and yes,at the time it was fast. not by todays standards. but for then it was smokin.

i saw this post and said "if an 80mm is good how about a 120mm"
after i did a little digging i came up with the part's.

1 fop32-1
1 120mm fan
1 120mm fan grill
4 fan screws

i left the original fan in place and used it to mount the 120.
i have both fans running ,the smaller fan has picked up a couple hundred r.p.m.
system temp was 48c with the cover on.
it is now down to 43c. of course that is full load running rc5.

I do not think, I would go the big, but that monster 120mm fan is cooling other part's as well. I was thinking about that also- there has to be enoth room !
