I'm thinking about buying a TBird 650 and overclocking it to somewhere around 1ghz. Is the TBird as overclockable as the Duron? Please post your overclocking testimonies here!

This is what I'm looking for:

[original speed] @ [OC'ed speed] w/ [volts] on a [motherboard]

Thanks,

i overclocked my 600 duron on a abit kt7 board to 850 at 1.68 volts actual. Why buy a tbird is my question.

Here's why I would rather spend about $15 more for the Thunderbird:

Duron's Cache
128k L1
64k L2
Total=192k

Thunderbird's Cache
128k L1
256k L2
Total=384k

well there ya go! Works for me. Overclocking is very dependent on the chip you get so it is luck of the draw. I think nearly all duron chips will get to 850 so perhaps all athlon chip can make it to a gig. good luck

Actually the Duron's are better overclockers, 600's hit 1Gig, but not much more. But the TBird 650 should hit at least 800-900. Some go past it.

It's all in the luck of the draw though.

I would get at least a 750 tbird. The price's are not that bad.
