I have done this before, but my memory she has faded.

I going to wipe clean a HD. Long ago, a computer tech gave me a "magic" disk to copy essential files from (xcopy, etc.) Then it was a simple matter of copying Win98 to the HD and running Setup, or alternatively running Setup from the Win CD. How would I build such a disk?

Thx.

Are you using Win98 now? If so and you want to format your HD and then reload Win 98 from setup, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and click on Startup Disk. With this floppy, you can format your HD. Then boot from the floppy and select the option to start with CD-Rom support. Put in Win98 CD, and change to drive letter of CD. (Probably E). Type "setup" (no quotes), hit enter, and follow the instructions.
