Have a question,
My basement has a very constant temp. of about 58 degrees F, If i ran a large tube from the basement, to the computer, say in a 4 -5 inch tube, connected straight to an intake fan maybe, how would this effect my case temapture. Or would if be more of a superficial fix, ie. lowers the temp returned by the probes, but doesn't help the chip temp. any. Is there any other conserns? Obviously I'd need to filer the fan, and the basement is pretty dry usually, so not too much risk from humidity. Would this meathod put too much pressure on the fan, I don't want anything to short out on me ya know. ok, ideas welcome. Just one of those early morning ideas i had.

Is it moist there too? Be careful if it is.

It will make a differencea and lower cpu temps and video temps depending on what the current temp is. If it is normally 75F then it will make a few degree difference.

The flexible plastic hose used to vent a clothes dryer would work. Consider putting a fan at the basement end too, maybe some "zip cord" inside the hose to power it?

Yeah, that's a good idea, may try that. I'll have to go to the store and look at the hoses and stuff like that. And I'll have to find some good stuff for filtering, but i kinda know about that, I have a friend that uses a filter over his fans. Thank guys

Dryer sheets work fairly well, provided you double them up. Use the unscented kind. You'll get filtration and very good air flow.
Change about once a month if on constantly.

I just tape sheets over my 4" fan blowing IN on the side of my case and the 80 mm blowing IN on the front of my case. The outlets on the top of the case and the PS fan exhaust. The exhaust ports are large enough to handle positive pressure from the fans. Exhaust ports have dryer sheets over them too. The P/S is clean as is the inside of the case.

BTW I have my setup in the basement going on 2 yrs at a room constant 62F deg. Case temps are 65F on a K6-2/450 @500 on a M577 board. Using a Generic H/S fan at 3500 rpm and Radio Shack heat sink compound. Temps are registered with Radio shack probe hanging in case out of direct airflow from fans.
