I have just dismantle my superOrb cooler to clea out the dust from inside and was rather disturbed at the number of wiskers of alluminium (burrs) that were hanging off the thins. Any1 of these could potentially come loose and short out connections in side the pc, especially if the mobo is mounted horizonatally like in desktop style cases.

I noticed the same thing I took 2 of them apart to do alittle grinding mod for Abit use, and scraped as much of the chaf out before re-assembly, I love my Supers ive said that many times over, I have a FOP38 and PAL 6035 im not using...noise is my issue, a tradeoff I accept---no thermal probs with 750@1250 and 1.1@ 1367...

Sounds to me like it would be a real good idea to clean all those burrs off. Could you get a little nail file inbetween the fins and clean them up?
