Thanks to a home purchase last year, Uncle Sam has coughed up a nice refund. Tired of scheduling my one PC, I'm going to buy another and network it. I'm looking at a complete system and don't want to salvage any HW out of the K6-3 450 I have. The Athlon 600/650 look great, but maybe the .18 micron die on 700+ would stay cooler for future 1Ghz o/c'ing. Basic needs are:
Athlon 700+
DDR Video card
17g+ hdd
128mg RAM (PC100)
No monitor/sound card, peripherals needed
Should I go bare-bones(CMonster?)and add the new hdd and video card? (I havent seen a bare-bone 700+ system yet.) Maybe just wait for more PC133 mobos to come out? I've got about $1300-1500 to "blow" here for next year's home business write-off. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
P.S. Athlon advice only please...
