I have a P2/400 on an Abit Be6-II mobo.

Yes, Im an idiot. I have such little intelligence about overclocking, its not funny. I know how to change the bios around and thats about it. I did a search on here for P2/400 and be6 but couldnt find what I was looking for.

To overclock this CPU, I need to change the clock from 100 to say 112. Then with a multiplier of 4x, my machine will run at 450Mhz.

Do I need to change any type of voltage? What is the highest speed I can change to?
Do I need add. fans?
Are there other settings to be concerned with?

I also have PC100 memory from Kingston, a Voodoo3 3000 video card, and a Turtle Beach Montego II sound card if that matters...

I had a P2 400@490 on a BE6.
You need to be concerned with heat, cooling is a must. First I would go with a thermal paste between CPU & heatsink, this is one time where more is NOT better. You can find this paste at Radio Shack or specialty pastes at cooling sites all over the web. If you have thermal tape on the heatsink you need to remove it prior to installing the paste. I got extra case fans to pull air into the case and push air out of the case. There are specialty heat sinks for the cpu, myself I have an Alpha P3-125. Some members swear by the golden orb, it's a matter of personal preference I'd say. Best advice I would say is don't rush into cranking settings up, do some research - check out the posts here and do searches. A good source of what others are doing is the CPU database at http://overclockers.com/
Yes you may indeed have to crank the voltage up, very small increases at a time (0.05v) your ram will be a factor as to "how high can I go" Raising the fsb increases the stress on other components as well (pci cards - agp card - HDD) So if your gonna OC be prepaired to pay the price!
Good luck.
