Yodie: Tweaking my MSI Kt7 Pro2A. But I do not understand these options:

AGP Master 1 Wait State Read/Write. Enabled sets it to 1; what does disabled do? Set it to 0 or to 2?

Also: PCI#2 Access#1 Retry. Default is enabled. What is better. I do not understand the function here. The Award/Phoenix site is useless. The Bios setup fields are at least 3 years old. Does anyone know of an updated FAQ?

Thanks

AGP Master 1 Wait State Read/Write when set to Disabled, there is a wait state of 2. My bios has this option for the write and read seperatly.

PCI#2 Access#1 Retry, when set to enabled, the AGP bus will attempt to access the PCI bus at a limited time period before being disconnected. If disabled, the AGP bus will keep trying to access the PCI bus until it does.

Not too sure if the latter will increase performance on any setting, seems more of a stability option...

Aleph1: thanks muchly. Yes my bios has the AGP wait states listed separately too; I was using shorthand.

Do you know why my Final Reality scores for Bus speed in 2D have dropped enormously since I put in DirectX8? 3D scores are over the moon though.

No idea. =) Never used Final Reality. I'd have to guess its DX8s fault =P hehe
