According to AMD this processor is ok to run up to 90 degrees centigrade w/ a case temp of 42 degrees.

This sounds high to me. What is the average temp of this processor ?

mine runs about 40C...with a FOP32 and artic silver(under load)...90C is AMD's absolute limit. Car's have a redline on them too, but if you run them at 100rpm under the redline for too long, they won't last very long...same thing with cpu temps.

Part of the problem is that socket A mb's read temps incorrectly(and often too low) so the most 40C readings could potentially be cpu core temps of 50s and 60s C. Depending on how far off your readings are, a 50-60C reading temp is still acceptable.
