If you like rock, check this out
www.knac.com (http://www.knac.com)

I just downloaded the latest realplayer and it sounds awesome. Online radio has came along way since I last listened.

If you think RA is cool, download WinAmp:

www.winamp.com (http://www.winamp.com)

And then check out Shoutcast:

yp.shoutcast.com (http://yp.shoutcast.com)

Shoutcast is a streaming MP3 format that sounds excellent (esp. with adsl or cable), and the station selection is incredible. Everything from rap to rock to heavy metal.

Also, to check out more RA sites, visit:

www.timecast.com (http://www.timecast.com)

I like the comedy channels at shoutcast. (not for the faint hearted) Probably wouldnt be a wise "career move" to play at work though. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

~~ http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif Posting on my new Athlon 600 system - not fully configured yet http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif ~~

Police Scanner - well, that is why the high level stuff is not page /officer telephone in...

BTW the new computer systems use frequency hopping so the radio calls are on the way out - nother 5 years or so

my better half will chew my ear off when she finds out how much I spent today..

Congrats on the Athlon, CMonster http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. If your wife hates it, you can always send it to me!

About the freq. hoping, several of my local area government services have already switched over to the 800/900mhz truncked calling network. Your right, with the next five years, the good old simplex and relays/repeaters are on the way out. Not too fear though, as most new model RS and Uniden scanners have the ability to follow these systems if setup properly.
