But in some forum (I think maybe this one). There were a few guys o/c ing their 566 cely's too 1GHz! Wow! They used some liquid cooling thing that kept their cases around 10 celsius! Good luck on your overclocking! desmocat 12-01-2000, 11:44 PM I don't know if the Asus board has the capability to adjust the front side bus speed with software or not, but that's how you can do it. If your board has jumpers to set the FSB, the same result can be had by configuring them for 100Mhz front side bus. The mutiplier on the cpu is locked at 8.5,so you must increase FSB to overclock the chip. If you haven't already, get a good heatsink/fan to go on your cpu before O/C'ing it,lest you run the risk of damage to the processor. You might need to up your voltage also to get it to go 850. I have a 566 cely that won't go to 850,the most I could get out of it was 707Mhz (83x8.5)stable, so not all of them will overclock well. I must have got a dog cpu,but alot of them respond well to overclocking. SysOpt.com
