I have been looking around for some reviews on which chip is better for overclocking. Im talking about the Intel P3's. I have always used the SECC2 slot 1 and can usually pull out an extra 150-200 mhz out of the chip. Has anyone seen any comparisons on these 2 chips. I would like to experiment with the flip chips but dont know if it will be worth the trouble. Or personal experience on the two? The reason Im asking is that my last chip was a 600 100mhz and I bumped it up to 125 (750) and it has never even so much as a hint of a problem. No other mods. in the bios. Using an Alpha H/S. I want to buy a 800 100mhz and bump it to 125 (1000) but dont know which one to buy. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rodney

That's a difficult one!

If you're not buying a new mobo, stay with Slot 1. Intel has announced that the faster C0 stepping chips (1133/133 architechture) will not be FCPGA, but that too could change. I'm waiting to find one of these new ones, the 850/100 is my preference for most overclocking choices. I have a hardly used 800/100 I'm not using, as I recall it goes 1000 without difficulty. We can talk about it via email, if you're interested.

The other side of the decision considers that the more costly Slot 1 will go away because L2 cache now is on-die and the flip chip is easier to cool.
