my sons friend asked if i could see if i could fix his system that he got from someone else because it keeps crashing.the thing is that there is no manuals or info with it and i can't seem to find anything online? i formatted the drive and reinstalled win95 on it but at bootup it crashes? tried safemode and it boots than system errors come
up and again crashes??? used mceffee virus scan from dos and it runs And don't crash and if i don't boot to windows it don't crash? the most info i can find on it is that it's a Pentium motherboard
( MB567 AMI TXpro II(SiS 5598) ) the bios string reads 51-1120-001437-00111111-071595-txproII-007_66_txproII-h and the main processor is cx6x86-pr166+ . the cup boots at 133 not sure if this is over clocked or not but i'm thinking it is and that what causing the trouble.so i'm looking for a motherboard manual on it. thank you for any help you can gave me on this.

You might want to try another CPU. (AMD or intel) That way you know that it's the CPU getting to hot that causes the crashes. Otherwise maybe the RAM isn't fit in correctly or maybe the is a short somewhere (but then it shouldn't start at all?)

Does sound heat related. Cyrix chips of that age ran HOT! I've a PR200 which will cause real burns if you touch the HS. But it runs fine...
Anyway, put a new HS/fan on it with new thermal paste. Get the biggest HS you can find.
I ran a search at Motherboards (http://www.motherboards.org/) , best I could find was that the bios string comes out as a PC Chips product, but no specific listing.
PC Chips did have a M567 board, but can't find more info on it.
Hope that helps a little, anyway.

You do inded had a M567 MB from PC Chips <A HREF="http://computertech.server101.com/xpro.htm" TARGET=_blank>http://computertech.server101.com/xpro.htm</A> scroll down to the TX Pro II and you will see your BIOS string.
Appearantly PC Chips has totally dropped support for this MB. I found the latest BIOS on a German website, but no additional information (and believe me it stretched my 2d grade level German to read it). I am still looking for a manual, but it is not looking good. One thing you could do is to email PC Chips and ask for an electronic version to be emailed to you.
Check out what I have found so far:

( thanks everyone for your help )
i found a setting for voltage on the motherboard and set it up 1 setting .i think it was 2.9 and i set it at 3.0 reinstalled win95 and it booted right up no errors no blue screen . it looks like that may have been the trouble all along but will anything happen to the system now that i changed that ? say over heating or burning out the motherboard ? i ran it for over 5 hours and everything seems to work fine .
thanks again
mike
