OK I just built this comp a few weeks ago, Duron 600 @ 950 1.7 volts and for a couple of weeks my idle temps were about 34-36 c, 40-42 c under a load. Well now my temps are 40-41 idle and shoot up to as high as 45 c under load. All my fans are still working and nothing has really changed so what could be causing this. The ambient room tempature has not changed either.

You might want to check your heatsink for dust buildup. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif My Duron 600@1ghz started to run hotter and hotter until I dusted my cooler(FOP38) and it is now back to 45C under full load. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif My heatsink had dust all over it and between the fins. The 38cfm delta fan on it spreads the dust all over everything around it too. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Grab a can of compressed air and blow that stuff out of the heatsink and out of your system. I'm sure that is the problem. It was my problem. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

I have already blown ot all the fans and case and it still stays up. All the fans are in good working order as well. Any other thoughts
Did it go up all at once or have you noticed it riseing? What MB and bios?

Did your heatsink come with strip of gummy stuff on it? If so it probably melted down so now you should use paste, Artic Silver perferably.

It seems to have happened all at once. I use a ABIT KT7 Raid UL bios and a Thermal Take Chrome Orb. It did come with the little sticky pad but I took it off before I built the system.

Just in case you overlooked something..... has the ambient temperature in the room changed? Have you started to use the central heating in the house, or moved the computer to a warmer room??
Heatsinks are rated in ºC rise /watt of heat dissipated. Say you have a 0.25ºC/W heatsink and 40W of heat, the heatsink will sit at 10ºC over ambient (ambient temperature being that inside your case). So the CPU temperature will be different if the room remperature is 10ºC compared to 20ºC.
