2. Chip:-
Duron 600MHz
3. Speed it is running at:-
600MHz

Asus A7V rev 1.02
Bios 1003a
Duron 650@850 v1.75
IBM 30gb Deskstar (ATA100/7200rpm)
GlobalWin FOP-38 HSF
80mm intake
80mm blowhole
80mm on PSU (stock)
HDD cooler (2x40mm)
40mm fan on vid card
Idle - 37'C
Load - 40 - 42'C

2/3 of the PSU is mounted outside of the case. Only the intake vents of PSU are inside. Much attention has been made to keeping the cabling out of the airflow. An additional heatsink has been added to the m/b's clock generator as well as to the backside of the vid card. The FOP-38 was lapped and Arctic Silver was used. Arctic Silver was also use on the HS on the KT-133 northbridge controller.

Jeeze how come you are getting much lower temps than me http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Must be your cooling or something.

I might get a new cooler.

It's been shown that the on board temp sensor can be up to 8C high.

AMD TB 700@ Asus A7V @ Aopen HQ08 300W
G-force 256
Thermal Take Chrome Orb

Idle : 39C

Full throttle : up to 49

Seti is right, the onboard sensor is more accurate than an external sensor

Ummmm, well...I ment the on board sensor is ****. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Not really =) The board sensor is supposed to be a lot more accurate than the cable sensors! But we were never used to the high temps so we've been judging our CPUs with wrong temps from before. I think the built in A7V thermo is supposed to read the temp INSIDE the cpu itself that's why it's hotter! I think i read it somewhere but i forgot where, some review site on the A7V!

The A7V sensor doesn't even touch the cpu.

A7V 1.1
Duron650 @ 1000 @ 2.04V
Alpha6035HS
Modified 1003 with 1004 Promise BIOS
IDLE: 38C
FULL: 51C

The Temp sensor touches the HS next to the Core.

Finally got my fop32.

A7V 1.02
D700 @ 900 with 1.7v (for now http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif)
BIOS 1003e2 with PCIMRC enabled
80mm(1), & 92mm(1) sucking
80mm(1), * PSU 80mm blowing

Idle: 33c
Peak: 42c

Just to clarify, A7V's rev 1.02 and later don't have the thermal probe 1.01 and earlier boards have. Instead the sensor is located on the MB PCB...in the pit, in the middle of the socket. Not very accurate, and has quite a bit of lag. I don't know why asus went this route, I suspect too many tech support calls about it.

Global Win FOP38 http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Intake - 44cfm Sunon 92mm
Exhaust - quiet 80mm guessing about 25cfm then the powersupply fan that is 20cfm

DOH! I forgot to put my temps...

Idle............?????? I have no clue (running RC5)

Full load(RC5) running at a cool 43C http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
