I'm sure most of you did this long ago, but I'm getting a new motherboard so I can finnaly run my 500 at 500 instead of 450, maybe even o/c a bit (never o/c'd a processor I actually wanted, always stuff I don't need)
Anyway I'm happy now.
ps. still want a thunderbird though.

Lol..its kinda funny how were doin decimal Ghz instead of Mhz's here...itll probably be the norm in a year or two.
In that case, my mom's machine runs on a 566000 Hz processor, and my roommates speeding along at Cyrix PR166, whizzing at 133000 Hz

the idea in using decimal gigahertz was because I see posts lots of places about passing 1GHz etc....
so I'm passing ½GHz.

I've got a test system with a Duron @ 1000 (out on loan right now), while my personal current system houses a Thunderbird at 950.
I'm planning to upgrade my personal system with a Thunderbird 1.1 GHz later this month, or I might just wait for a Pentium 4 1500 around Dec.
Still, I can't really see a need for these extreme speeds for people interested in standard desktop applications or light gaming. I keep my system upto date as I use it for a testing platform. Otherwise, I would probably still be computing with one of my older 500 MHz Socket7 systems.

hehe..Aura, that's exactly what I was thinking too http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
Working with decimals makes our comps seem so miniscule :P
