How can a company seemingly so successful appear like such a bumbling idiot so often. I'm almost beginning to feel sorry for Intel...but not really. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
Here's today's Intel screw-up report:
Chip giant confirms problem involving the 820 and 840 chip sets has spurred it to scrap plans for three new motherboards. (http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2440675,00.html?chkpt=zdhpnews01)

OUCH! The ones I REALLY feel sorry for, are the end users with SDRAM that have already purchased boards with the 820 or 840 chipsets.

So Dell will avoid packaging any more 820 & 840s with SDRAM (and probably avoid customer support calls as much as possible)
Compaq apparently will sell them that way regardless
and HP is just going to bury their heads in the sand.
I guess those buying on the bleeding edge just got cut,
like Target says, "OUCH".
