I have a p3-700e on a abit be6-2 mobo with 128 pc133 ram and an 8meg agp vid card. I can o/c it stable to 840mhz on stock voltage. but if i want to o/c it higher to 875 which i have it right now i have to up the voltage to 1.7 or else Win ME won't boot and tells me files are missing and all that ****. I've tried taking it to 903, vid card isn't holding me back, neithers the ram, i get as far as win me booting screen and it tells me tons of files are corrupt, missing, do not exists. then it kicks me to an old dos c> prompt and no matter what i type, dir, win, cd\ anything it tells me that file is corrput or missing or doesn't exsists. I've pumped the voltage up to 1.85 trying to correct this but nothing works. ANy ideas????? Thanks.

hmm I think your cpu has had it at 875mhz, usually they give this symptom to tell you that it can't go any higher. why not just settle for 875mhz? heck for me I couldn't even get a K6-2 500 to run at 550 without it toasting, so backed it a little down. seem stable for a short time but the heat built up increases the longer I have my computer on. with stronger fan, help a little but still get very hot! so you tell me.

You have hit the maximum o/c for you CPU with your current configuration. As for using WinMe in an overclocked situation, my Thunderbird 800 is at 950. I can't get above 950 no matter what OS I use, whether it be Linux, BeOS, or WinNT. I doubt WinMe is your problem.
You might require additional cooling, or it could be a system device holding you back.

Yeah, I noticed exactly the same thing happens to me. I have a celeron 600 and when I overclock it to 980 with 1.75 voltage
(9.5 x 103) it will boot into Win2k, though it is a bit unstable, but when I try to boot into WinME (Dual Boot), that is exactly what happens to me, it says files are missing. So, to boot into WinME, I have to take it down to 954 (9.5 x 100).
