ducted h/s fan

i have a thought let me know what you think it takes a heatsink preferably pal6035 add a duct shaped kinda like an inverted pyramid so you can use a 120 mm fan on it any clue as to whether this would work or not?

Sounds great! Hey, if you wanted to, you could lead the duct to the outside of your case, to bring in fresh air, or exhaust the hot air!

thats what i was thinking i was just wondering if anybody had tried this or knew if / how well it worked?
i plan on trying it the end of this month i'll be closer to my gf's dad he has a machine shop

I'm not using a funnel shaped duct, but I do have a 92cm fan placed in a hole I cut in the side of my box, right over the cpu. It feeds cool outside air directly to the fans that are blowing on the cpu heatsink. Dropped my temp by over 10°F if I remember correctly.
