if intel is going down, I don't think its gonna be in my lifetime...

AMD may be a short-term threat to Intel's long-term status but Intel has got the $$$ and AMD is losing lots and lots of $$$...so bullet for bullet Intel is definetly winning.

Intel is financially much more stable than AMD.

It is nice for intel to have a little competition so that they'll keep on pumping out those MHZ and make us consumers very happy.

Happy happy hippo...

IMO it ain't gonna happen. That's one of the problems with these super-mega-intergallactic corporations. They accumulated so much money(=power=resources) that they can, and often do, safely ignore consumers. They offer not what the consumer demands, but what these corporations consider appropriate. Example: Intel releasing their CPUs to power-hungry crowd in pathetic 33MGh steps. Another one is M$, who can safely ignore any demands and throw in whatever **** they want, and still be in business for at least a dozen more years.

Yep. AMD has to run neck and neck with Intel for something like 5 years before they even turn a profit. I applaud them though, someones gotta take that first bite outta intel.
