Ok I need to know what the default voltage for a Duron 600 is. I have it at 650mhz at the default voltage. The highest it will go at this voltage is 650mhz. What is the maximum voltage for this Duron? if i want 700-750 mhz what voltage settings should i set?
The Asus A7V has jumper free settings for the voltage. Should i change it there or on the jumpers on the motherboard?
Thanks for the advice. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Taken from the AMD Duron Revision Guide:
CPU markings eg:
D 700 A S T 1 B
D - Family/Architechture D=Duron
700 - Speed in mhz
A - Package Type M=Card Module A=PGA
S - Operating Voltage S=1.5v U=1.6v P=1.7v N=1.8v
T - Case Temp Q=60C X=65C R=70C Y=75C T=90C
1 - Size of L2 Cache 1=64kb 2=128kb
B - Max FSB A=B=200mhz
Assuming you have a 1.5v chip, you can safely take it to 1.7v (according to AMD). If you take it higher, it's at your own risk. The A7V can take the voltage up to 1.85v, but some extreme cooling is recommended.
If you are o/c'ing using the FSB only, you can set your voltages using the soft menu. If you are using the internal multiplier, you have to go to jumper mode on the A7V, and that means setting voltage by jumper. I've heard setting the voltages in jumper mode is more stable anyways.

the default is 1.5V, but with adequate cooling they can take the whole 1.85V of the A7V.
I run my 650@1000 with 1.8V.

I too have a Asus A7V. I can only get my multiplier to 6.5 max on a Duron 600. I'm not sure if I'm changing the voltage right or what. Right now it's at 695mhz(107mhz*6.5).
Can anyone tell me what jumpers to change?
