What is an IT?

I have seen this all over this site and others. I finally got the guts to ask, what is an IT professional? I know this is a dumb question but I could not find the answer for myself. I know it will be obvious.

"IT" the indefinite article. Not "this" thing near me, nor "that" thing over there, but the "IT" we may not see or the "IT" in your possession.

IN the late 70s Christians had "I found IT" bumper stickers - some Jews quickly countered with "We never lost IT" bumper stickers.

IT is the great mystery, everything comes from IT and everything is made of IT. But most of all IT just IS. IT is the Alpha and Omega, the yin and the yang. The eternal paradox. IT is the eternal light.

Everyone is looking for IT. Some say happiness it where you find IT. Some say IT's money - if only they had enough of IT. Coke is not IT. Some people are caught in the difference between THIS and THAT - baby I can tell you THAT's not even the half of IT. IT comes to pass. IT will dawn on you someday. Some people say the darndest things about IT and don't even know IT.

I could go on and on about IT but there is no need - you will find out about IT one way or another...
