Current setup:
FIC 503+ 1.2A w/ K6-2-350
64meg EDO RAM in (4) 72pin simm slots
I want to purchase a 128meg stick of PC100 RAM to fill one of my two dimm slots.
Questions:
What is EEPROM? Do I need it?
Gold leads...who cares?
What's the difference b/n generic & corsair?
CAS 2 or 3. Will I notice a difference?
Thanks!

Gold leads give better connections (higher quality)
Generic is usually not as good quality and not as good at overclocking but is half the price of Corsair, Kingston and PNY
Cas 2 is better RAM and will also overclock better b/c it will go to Cas 3 before becoming unstable. Cas 3 RAM has nowhere to go when it becomes unstable and thus will not boot (once again for overclocking)
EEPROM- ???
Good luck, Now is a good time to buy RAM since the prices have dropped so much. I buy from Advanced PC Boost (www.pcboost.com) b/c they are straight up about what they give and are trusted.

EEPROM.....(electrically erasable programmable read-only memory)
you already have that, it's the BIOS chip

Excuse my ignorance, but if EEPROM is my BIOS chip then what does it have to do with memory? I see some memory on pricewatch as marketed w/ EEPROM. Some with ECC or nonECC. Could someone please clarify what I should look for in a mem stick. Thanks!

The EEPROM is also the SPD module, I believe. This EEPROM holds the info about your chip. The mobo queries the EEPROM and changes your settings accordingly.
