I have a feeling, though that you have already seen both of these articles, as tomshardware.com and anandtech.com are the two most obvious places to look. But you are frustrated because what you are looking for is more like "Overclocking the Athlon/Duron for Dummies: Comic Book Version"

Hey, to simplify things just connect the L1 bridges and get an Abit KT7 motherboard and let it take care of all the other details.
