Is that a laptop? Because overclocking laptops is not reasonable / possible for a few reasons:
1) There is no way of getting better cooling (the thing is all sealed up). Overclocking creates more heat, and better cooling is needed to take care of that heat.
2) There is no way of knowing which jumpers to flip to change the multiplier or the FSB. The system's speed is determined by the multiplier X FSB. If you can increase either, the system runs faster.
3) If you do increase the multiplier or FSB, there is no way of changing the voltage. To run at a higher speed, processors will often need more voltage to run stable.

Thanks for the reply...It is their subcompact laptop from a few years ago...about the size of the Sony Vio line. I know the Toshiba Libretto (also a subcompact) can be overclocked and still run stable, and I was hoping the HP would work...I did meet a guy who is HP certified, and he said that the frequencies are hard-wired on those boards, and without an EE degree, I probably would not be able to modify it. Thanks again for your advice...E
