I got my A7V and Duron 700 3 days ago and (as per my original post), my worst nightmare has come true.
In my post I was asking about compatability problems I had heard about the A7V and Aureal cards and sure enough over the last 3 days both the computer store and me have not been able to get the MX300 to work.
It seems that the bios is not assigning it any IRQ,s at all as when it booted it knows and asks for the drivers but when I check the Device Manager, it says,
" This Device is disabled because tne Bios for the device did not give it an IRQ (code 29). You must enable the devise in the Bios."
I did not do a fresh install of Windows but this did not seem to be necessary at the time as every thing else works great. I am very impressed with the setup. ALL my games work great and all my Office and Photoshop programs etc, have never worked faster.
My Device Manager shows that I have three free IRQ's(4,7,9)yet even though I change the card from slot to slot and re-boot, not even 1 IRQ gets assigned let alone the normal 3.
At the moment I have left it in slot 4.
This is really getting me down and I need your help.
My A7V doesn't have the onboard sound and I have D/L'ed the new 1004 Bios.
Even my computer tech was stumped. I havent tried Acid_Burns tip yet. Is that worth a try and how do you get into safe mode with this board(F5 + F8 doesn't do it).
