Hello,

I just bought a K6 2 333/66 and the markings on the case state that the core voltage should be 1.8V. The three leter code on the cpu is ANZ, and I have not been able to find info on AMD's site regarding this. Any know what would be a safe voltage to run this CPU at?

Thanks

I have not heard of an ANZ coding for a K62, much less a 1.8 voltage. Could it be an engineering sample?

I surmise it would not hurt if you follow a 1.8 voltage setting since all K62 processors run on 2.2-2.4 V settings.

My FIC PA-2013 has voltage from 1.8v to 3.5v in 0.1v increment.

MY K6-2 333 came from the factory set at 2.1v

It's now running at 2.5v @ 366 mhz
(my mobo don't have anything between)

I added a larger fan/HS combo and under load it never gets over 97F EXTERNAL Temp, NOT Core temp

If anyone is still following this thread, the markings on the K6 2 are K6-2/333ANZ-66
1.8V core/3.3 I/O

It appears that this CPU has the CXT core because it I set the multiplier to 2.0 it sets the multiplier to 6.0

I tested it on an ASUS P55T2P4 and it posts at 400. I also have a K6-3 that does the same thing on the same m/b. Of course I'll have to install an OS to see if it is stable at that speed.

Check out tomshardware for a story: Oldie but Goodie, tuning the P55T2P4 with K6 2+.

Cheers

Thanks for the info. I bought the cpu at Fry's (a chain electronics retail store similiar to Best Buys) so I doubt that it is an engineering sample. I was thinking that it should be safe if I set the mb to supply 2 volts. I haven't heard of any ss7 mb that would supply less than 2 volts.

Anyone know of ant that will?
Thanks
