I finally went from an overclocked 550 to 600MHz.
First I burned it in at 2,8V then I went down to 2,5V (it sometimes crashes during booting Win but otherwise stable as hell) then upped it again to 2,6V: Rock Solid!
I use my own home-build watercooler and it's at cool ~91°F idle and goes up to ~110°F when running some high-power apps.
I'm happy.

Multimedia Benchmark

Is this good??
THE AMD K6-2 ROCKS!

SOunds very cool variable. Congradulations http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif
What are you using for a Radiator to shed the heat? Do you have a peltier in there?
I am working on my BP6 over clock today and it's great to hear of someone else's success.
With stock OEM heat sinks and artic silver paste, I have my Dual celery (533PPGA) up to 625 MHz (78MHZ FSB) at 2.1 vdc. It is running seti on both processors under LINUX. Had it up for over 3 hours now without a crash. At 640MHz (80 MHZ FSB) it will boot and run for a few minutes but then crash. Heat related I am sure. I lowered my ambient today down to 78F because the electric rates are cheap on the weekend. Hard to do during the week at 14 1/2 cents a kilowatt hour. Just got done lapping the heatplates and water blocks. May be today or tommorrow I will get the water cooling stuff running. Just added a picture of the components to http://www.users.uswest.net/~dshiels

That's a good clock for any K6-2.

hey variable. . .push the FSB to 112 if you can 616 (5.5x112). . .also 91F idle??? you need a larger cooler, I have a GW FOP-38 on my K6-III 450@504(2.6v) and idle mine is running about 84F, and almost breaks 100F after about 3 hrs of gaming.
BTW I have the AHX CTX core(2.4v flavor) not know for being a good overclocker. I can get it to 523 with out many problems but I like the 112 bus better than the 95.
anyway good cooking though http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I use a flattened coppr-pipe as HS.
I don't have a radiator because I don't really need it:
My watercooler-tank takes about 2-3 gallons of water. That won't heat up but as a precaution I took a empty coke bottle made a whole in the bottom and put it standing upside down in the tank. The water coming from the HS/CPU now flows into the bottle. Because it only gets out at the bottom the water has to cool to get out. (warmer water stays on the top but is pushed gadually down by the incoming water)
Now I only want to push these 2,6V down to a stable 2,5V (2,5 still in the safety margin of the K6-2 but 2,6V not).

Sounds like you need to reduce the heat some more. The local autoparts store here had a small trans cooler with 3/8 inch hose fittings for about $25. That and a couple of fans should reduce the temps toward ambient.
I am going to try to add my Radiator setup to my BP6 setup today. Need to get tubing and a pair of 3/8 tees.

it works on the same principle that the radiator in a car works. .. it cools the water more so the engine wont overheat.
having the radiator will cool the water more so you will be able to cool the chip more efficiently. and you also might be able to reach higher speeds.

Hey, what do you guys need the radiator for??
The water in my watertank is cool, very cool.
I don't think I can cool it down more.
Also wouldn't it be better for the fan to blow directly at the water (in the tank for example) to cool it down?
