I dont' know why i am unable to overclock my computer... I've tried it before on a cyrix, pentiums - but i just can't get it to work on AMD...

I'm kind of a techie, and i know about voltages and cooling.

This is my configuration:

Amd K6-III 450
Epox G2 1meg
Marvel G400
192 Mb PC100

I've been able to run it at 448 (4*112), but when i start crunching SETI, it crashes due to the the very complex calculations and cache access.

The PC100 will run at 112.

Has any of you ever done this on a somewhat similar setup? any settings, ideas? - i just need a little more speed

I have a K6-III 350 on FIC 503+. K6-3 is bad cpu for oc (I think due to on die cache). You could try 100x5, which is about the max you could get from this cpu. Otherwise, try lowering the fsb in combination with higher multiplier. I have mine set at 83x5 = 415MHZ (peripherals are overclocked significantly but are stable, which is much faster than 100x4. Since the L2 cache runs at full speed, I do not think lowering the fsb has major effect on its performance.

In any event do not bump the voltage above 2.6. I was able to run my 350 at 100x4.5 at 2.7v but, it was heating up the cpu and the system would crash.
