Need help building a system

Ok lets see what all you tech junkies do with this. WHat componets could you get for around 300$ for a good system. Exclude monitor,case,speakers,keyboard,mouse,and sound card.

For $300, you can't get a good system. You *can* get a system, but it will suck goat nuts.

My advice would be to save up another $200 or so. Then you can get a pretty decent one.

But if $300 is your budget, then I'll see what I can come up with. May take some time...

If ya build it yourself, you can get a decent system for about 400 bucks. Celeron 466 go for around 90 bucks, Abit VA6 MB for around 80, 64 RAM for about 70, now see you are getting close to being finished. However, the Hard drive is going to put you over the top. One thing I did was to buy a cheap 300A celeron recently and o/c to 500+, I got my chip for 40 bucks. Good for a second/budget system, which looks like what you are looking for. Go to www.resellerratings.com (http://www.resellerratings.com) and check out some sites for prices. But the above post is right, 300 bucks just aint good enough really.

I would advice you to look the local news papers for sales from end users.
Honestly you have almost no chance to put a system that will b suitable even for my baby sister (7yrs) 2 use.
