Want to know if anyone knows how to overclock an AMD 500 K62 on a Soyo SY-5EHM v1.1 Motherboard?

for some reason these cpu run quite hot even at 500mhz. at 550mhz 50mhz overclocking it requires serious cooling. I know I couldn't do with with a cheap fan/heatsink that was only meant for normal speed operation. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif for everyone it is different, i can only get it stable by upping to 2.6V when overclocking to 550mhz. i have backed down to 523mhz 2.3v ever since due to overheating problem

i have a K6-2 500 and i got it up to 571MHz@2.3v. I burned in the CPU using Seti @ 2.3 volts. I got it running at 523 with no flaws at all but i needed to go for more. I was limited to a 95MHz FSB since my mobo's top speed was that. So my next one was 571. I had it running for 10-20 minutes til it crashed. Win_98 is right about the temperature.. You should get better cooling than stock cooling to overclock this baby. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
