Just a little reminder, air flow is key to a low ambient temp in your case. We all know this, but what some of us(like me) overlook due to pure laziness is tieing up your cables. Tie them, get them out of the way so air can flow more freely! I did this in my sys, and dropped my temp around 5C ambient temp! Not bad for the cost of a couple plastic cable ties.

Good luck, also, decide on a air flow, most common and probably most effective is front to back. running a K6, or any socket chip that is vertical with the M/B, use a evert fan, as this will more smoothly go with your air flow. Also, make sure all your fans work in harmony(yes, i know, it sounds korny), meaning nothing pulls against each other, or pushes against each other. Don't put slot coolers below a video card with a fan...sucking air away from a fan makes the fan useless and could overheat and even damage your card!. Little things like these all add up to make a big difference in sys temp.

My good friend who builds computers for a living equips all of his customers' computers with tubing. You wouldn't believe how neat the inside looks. If the cable needs to be removed, you just pull the switch on the certain section of tubing and the bottom swings down.. Its pretty durable too. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Way to go, Scotter! Just unreal. It's hard to tell from the photo, are the IDE/FDD flat cables shown in that photo?

yes and they are not flat anymore they are the red, blue and black cables you see
red = primary IDE
blue = secoundary
black = FDD
I rounded them and stuck them in wire coating I got from a auto parts store

Scotter -- Just checked out your website. Very good job and lots of good info. The photos of how you set up the case fans and wires are terrrriffic! I've been putting together my own systems for 9-10 years now and have been reading up on this stuff for years, both on-line and in print and have never seen anything to beat what you do.
As Siskel & Ebert used to say -- "Two thumbs up!"
