Hi! I wish to copy files from my Win98 CD to my HD so I never get prompted to put Win98 CD in CD-ROM. I've done this before, but forgot! How do I accomplish this?
Thx!

Brangwen Target 02-12-2000, 10:13 AM Make the following directory on your C: drive C:\windows\options\cabs Then copy the contents of the win98 directory from your CD to directory on your hard-disk, and you're good to go chuckiechan 02-12-2000, 10:26 AM To retreive files, do you need to enter a prompt, or will Windows just "find it"? Thx2 Brangwen 02-12-2000, 10:49 AM No, CC, Target reminded me of what I needed. Thx to you both! Brangwen JW310 02-12-2000, 05:12 PM Just about any directory works for copying the files to. I have a directory called C:\Win98 that I ran the install from, and it looks there everytime it needs something from the cab files. JW Target 02-12-2000, 06:21 PM Yeah, pretty much any directory will do. I just assumed that it was likely and OEM install, and a lot of them seem to use the c:\windows\options\cabs directory convention. SysOpt.com
